The Global economic slowdown has had an adverse impact on our business and we are currently suffering from losses. In order to meet the present challenges, the Company has amongst other things, had to review its manpower requirements. As a result of the review, we have found that we are overmanned. Therefore, the Company has decided to invite applications from its employees who are interested in ceasing their employment under a Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS).
The terms and conditions of the VSS offer is as contained in this letter and the document enclosed. We believe that this VSS offer is fair and competitive. It recognises the important contributions made by the employees over the years to the growth of the Company and is in keeping with the Company’s long-standing commitment to protect the best interest of it’s employees. Therefore, in arriving at a package, adequate weight has been given to the length of service in the Company. We wish to state that application for this VSS offer is strictly voluntary on the part of the employee.
If you are interested in submitting an application for VSS, please complete the enclosed application form and return the same to the Human Resource Department by <time> on <date>. The Company reserves the right to select and decide on submitted applications at its absolute discretion.
